People living in coastal areas have a lifestyle that is greatly influenced by the sea. Their daily life, occupations, food, and houses are different from people living in inland areas.
- Occupation: Most people in coastal areas depend on fishing. They also work in ports, shipbuilding, trade, and tourism.
- Food: Their diet mainly includes fish and other seafood because these are easily available.
- Housing: Houses are often built on raised ground or with strong materials to protect from storms, cyclones, and floods.
- Transport and trade: Boats and ships are commonly used for transportation and trade. Coastal people often have contact with other regions and countries through sea routes.
- Climate effect: The climate near the sea is usually moderate and humid, so people wear light clothes suitable for warm weather.
